Another (fantastic) day...
...spent here. Damn, I am still so stoked about working from home. Let me tell you why.
The office equipment is state of the art. So, too, is the software. I'm not expected to suffer the daily pain of corporate-security-policy- hobbled "productivity" apps (you know, ancient copies of Microsoft Office even your Mum would consider primitive.) My coffee is freshly ground every morning and doesn't cost me £3 for a single (strong) cup. My daily commute is no greater a journey than from one side of the house to the other. If the weather is nice, my wireless network and MacBook Pro give me the freedom to work in the garden. I don't have to share my bathroom with anyone. My last job — before I began working from home — was with a very big, famous and deeply respected broadcaster. They happen to be a fantastic employer. But still... nothing can beat my beautiful sunny mornings when I sit at my desk, drink my coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet calm. It is a humbling — and, secretly, amusing — thought that while I'm sipping down some columbian dark roast and reading the morning feeds, everyone else is stuffed into cramped and smelly tube trains crawling their way across London. hehe ;-)
